The 43rd Cumbria Steam Gathering takes place on July 30 & 31 2016 and will feature more than 1,200 classic exhibits, displays, traditional fair plus specialist caterers and crafts. Between 30 – 40,000 visitors attend the annual Steam Gathering which is organised by The Cumbria Steam & Vintage Vehicle Society. They have been bringing together vintage and steam vehicles from across the world for one massive summer event, held just outside Grange-over-Sands, for four decades.
The Cartmel Show is always a firm favourite with both visitors and locals. The Show, held on Wednesday 3 August 2016, offers a profusion of family entertainment packed into the picturesque parkland setting at Cartmel Racecourse. The show has its roots firmly within the agricultural and rural community. Sample the delights of rural life & enjoy the entertainment – something for everyone.
The Lunesdale Agricultural Show is held at Underley Park, the home of Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club, on Tuesday August 9 2016. Attractions at this traditional country show include cattle, sheep, horse, dog, poultry and show jumping classes. There will also be home industries, including the traditional rural craft of sticks and crooks. Plus produce (including classes for cakes and preserves), a craft marquee, food hall and the very popular Cumberland & Westmorland Wrestling.
