Although some of us choose to go on a touring holiday with our caravan or motorhome for 12 months of the year it’s not for everyone. With dark nights, wind, rain and the possibility of snow or icy conditions to me caravanning in the winter looses most of its appeal. Seems like a far better idea to put your feet up in front of a roaring fire, cuppa in hand and make plans for the coming season.
Gone are the days when you needed to send off for a new holiday brochure or ring up for this year’s prices and then eagerly wait for the sound of them dropping though you letter box. All good parks have websites, all the information you need will be at your finger-tips and if it isn’t you can contact them easily via email even if the park owners have jetted off to sunnier climes! (I can recommend this option).
And if you are new to touring can I give you a tip? Book early for Bank Holidays! Popular sites get booked quite quickly and you will struggle to find anywhere decent at the last minute.
If you only ever book ‘Club Sites’ make a change this year and try some quality independent parks. We usually use 4 or 5 star touring parks and always read reviews before we book.
So have fun planning your 2014 holidays – they will soon be here.
